Starion Financial donated more than $960,000 to charities and local organizations in the North Dakota and Wisconsin communities it serves in 2013.
Some of the major donations for the year went to TNT Kid’s Fitness and Gymnastics, Plains Art Museum, Trollwood Arts, Oakes (N.D.) Community Foundation, Rebuilding Together, AID Inc., Sanford Foundation, North Dakota 4-H, North Dakota Small Business Development Center and Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota.
MELT4Charity raises $1,500 for nonprofits
The Maximum Performance & Fitness, Fargo, Third Annual MELT4Charity event was held in February with all fees donated during the Dakota Medical Foundation Giving Hearts Day.
Maximum Performance & Fitness and its clients had 30 teams participating and raised $1,500 for area charities. All teams recorded their nutrition and exercise daily, combining points with body fat weight loss to determine the overall placements of teams.
The winning team chose the Jeremiah Foundation ($750), the second place team donated to Lend A Hand ($450) and the third place team donated to the Rape and Abuse Crisis Center ($300).
United Way donates to dental access project
The Red River Valley Dental Access Project, Moorhead, has received a $10,000 grant from the United Way of Cass-Clay.
The funds will help support the Urgent Care Walk-In Dental Clinic’s basic needs in 2014.
