Sjothun certified as Generac technician

Alex Sjothun has achieved certified Generac standby generator technician status.

He recently attended a two-day training class in Eagle, Wis., where he worked with an array of functional generators of all sizes and fuel types, learning troubleshooting, diagnostic and repair skills in a real world setting.

While Sjothun’s primary focus is Generac standby generators, he will continue to supplement the company’s HVAC line with his three-plus years of experience working with sheet metal fabrication and installation.

Sjothun is a Fargo native and attended North Dakota State University majoring in mechanical engineering.

Peterson completes aging services training

Melissa Peterson, director of nursing at Eventide on Eighth, Moorhead, has graduated from Aging Services of Minnesota’s 2013 Leadership Academy.

The academy is a leadership development program designed specifically to cultivate high potential leaders in the field of aging services.

The 12-month curriculum includes leadership theory, self-reflection, critical skill development and action learning.
