K's Bakery of Fargo moves into larger home
The added space allows for a larger, more efficient kitchen, new coffee and espresso machines, and seating for approximately 50 patrons. The location will also feature a drive-thru, which Faber Wills calls a “work in progress.”
Because all of the food is made from scratch daily, she wants to make sure she is ready for the increased customer demand before it opens.
Right now, she is learning to balance the daily bakery demands while perfecting a lunch menu.
Each day she features four homemade soups and a baguette, an assortment of salads, as well as bagel sandwiches and croissants.
Her baked good include 15 different bars, nine cookies, pies, and a variety of special desserts such as the sticky butter toffee pudding inspired by a recent trip to Byerly’s in Minneapolis. The dessert features a heavy cake covered in butter caramel sauce, served with roasted pecans and a swirl of whip cream.
Faber Wills says business has been incredible since the move.
“I have to say, I have the most loyal, wonderful customers that anybody could ever ask for, and we see new ones every day.” she said.
She is proud K’s food is made fresh daily and what she enjoys most about her work is when customers realize that and appreciate that.
“The customers can make you feel so absolutely appreciated,” she said. “You can be having the absolute worst day in this world, and when you get that positive feedback you know why you’re doing it.”
