No. 9-ranked Pelican Rapids loses leading scorer to ACL tearFARGO – Pelican Rapids girls basketball team was 18-2 and ranked No. 9 in Minnesota Class 2A heading into Saturday’s game with Park Rapids.
The Vikings not only lost Saturday’s game, but lost leading scorer Mackenzie Korf for the season to a torn ACL. Korf, a sophomore, was averaging nearly 25 points a game and recorded the 1,000th point of her career against Little Falls on Feb. 8. Korf broke the school record with 41 points in the season opener against Frazee.
The Vikings have lost three in a row and are 18-5 overall on the season.
