Republicans Olson, Zupi to face off for District 13 seat in West FargoWEST FARGO – Two Republicans here have announced their candidacy for the North Dakota House in District 13, a seat vacated by retiring Rep. Alon Wieland after serving for 12 years.
West Fargo native Christopher Olson, CEO of Treasure Island Coins Inc., a coin and precious metal dealer in Fargo, announced Monday he is seeking election.
David Zupi, director of operations for Triton Systems Inc. in Fargo, also announced he will seek Wieland’s seat. Zupi is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel.
The two men will face off for the Republican Party’s endorsement at the District 13 legislative endorsing convention at 6 p.m. March 4 at the Carl Ben Eielson Middle School in Fargo.
A candidates forum is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Payroll Express, 301 Sheyenne St., West Fargo.
Rep. Kim Koppleman and Sen. Judy Lee have both announced they will seek re-election and will also attend the forum.
