Erin Andrews to co-host 'Dancing with the Stars'

Erin Andrews was officially announced as the new “Dancing with the Stars” co-host Monday morning on “Good Morning America,” where the new cast for Season 18 will be revealed live in Los Angeles on March 4.

TheWrap reported the news of Andrews’ hiring on Sunday, following a Saturday’s news that host Brooke Burke-Charvet had been fired by the ABC reality competition.

“We can confirm that Brooke Burke-Charvet will not be joining us next season,” Conrad Green, the show’s executive producer, told ABC News in a statement. “She’s been a wonderful part of the ‘Dancing With the Stars’ family since her triumphant win in season seven and will unquestionably be missed by our entire team. We’d like to thank Brooke for her years of great service.”

Andrews, who will also continue to work for Fox Sports, competed on season 10 of “Dancing With the Stars,” where she made it to the finals.

In her new role, the once-ESPN reporter will join longtime co-host Tom Bergeron when the season premieres on March 17 at 8 p.m.

This year, the show will also have a new music director in the form of Ray Chew, who replaces Harold Wheeler.
