Police looking for man who robbed north Fargo Stop-N-Go

FARGO – Police are looking for a man who robbed a north Fargo convenience store Sunday evening.

Sgt. Jim Van Lith said the clerk working at the Stop-N-Go at 3220 12th Ave. N. reported the robbery at 5:15 p.m., telling police a man entered the store and ordered the employee to get down on the floor.

The suspect, who didn’t show a weapon, took an undisclosed amount of cash and some other merchandise before leaving the store on foot.

Van Lith said officers attempted to track the suspect’s scent with dogs, but that was unsuccessful. It was unclear which direction the suspect was going after leaving the store.

The clerk described the suspect as a white male, approximately 40 years old with a thin build. He was wearing a green jacket and a black hat that covered his face at the time of the robbery.

The robbery remains under investigation, and Van Lith said the suspect hadn’t been located by 7 p.m. Sunday.

It marks the fifth business robbery in the community since Jan. 1, including incidents at Stop-N-Go stores on South University Drive in Fargo and on Sheyenne Street in West Fargo, as well as robberies of the Petro Serve USA convenience store at 2921 Broadway in Fargo and the Mister Money store in south Fargo.

Anyone with information about Sunday’s robbery is asked to call the Fargo Police Department at (701) 235-4493.
