NDSU grad Smock wins USA indoor triple jump titleALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Former North Dakota State national champion and 2012 London Olympian Amanda Smock claimed her third consecutive indoor national title in the triple jump on Sunday. She won the event at the USA Indoor Championships with a jump of 45 feet, 3.75 inches.
Four of Smock’s six attempts on the day exceeded the best mark from second-place finisher Andrea Geubelle.
It was Smock’s fifth American title in the triple jump. She won the outdoor championship in 2011 and 2012, as well as the 2012 and 2013 indoor crowns.
