Letter: The ‘good ship’ Lollipop was an airplane

Much reference has been made since the death of Shirley Temple Black to the song “The Good Ship Lollipop.” Most do not know that Lollipop was an airplane and not a boat.

It comes from one of Temple’s most popular movies, “Bright Eyes” from 1934 when she was just 5½. This was the first Temple movie I ever saw and became hooked on her movies from then on.
