Crookston man dead after found submerged in Maple LakeCROOKSTON, Minn. – A Crookston man is dead after he was found underwater at Maple Lake near here.
Kory Stromstad, 37, was found in his spear house just off the shore of Maple Bay underwater, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, who responded to the report of an unresponsive male along with the Mentor First Responders and County EMS.
Stromstad was transported to Riverview Hospital in Crookston, where he was later pronounced dead. He was transported to the University of North Dakota pathology department for an autopsy, and the investigation is ongoing.
