First half sparks Tommies past Cobbers in men's hoops

MOORHEAD – St. Thomas erupted for 49 points in the first half on 68 percent shooting from the field. That strong start sparked the No. 11-ranked Tommies to an 81-67 victory against Concordia in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men’s basketball at Memorial Auditorium.

The Cobbers (11-12, 7-11) have lost three of their past four games. They have two conference road games remaining in the regular season. Sophomore guard Tom Fraase paced Concordia with 10 points. Fraase was the lone Concordia player to reach double digits in scoring.
