Rasmussen College career fair set Feb. 26
Rasmussen College of Fargo and Moorhead will host a community career fair from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Moorhead campus, 1250 29th Ave. S.
The fair will help job seekers connect with employers and those currently in the workforce can find information on how to advance their careers.
Employers include Sanford Health, Accurate Home Care and Preference Marketing. There will also be panel discussions with human resources experts, professional dress consultations, LinkedIn training, resume reviews and mock interviews.

Profit mastery topic of upcoming workshop
The West Central Minnesota Small Business Development Center will host “Profit Mastery: Creating Value and Building Wealth,” a seminar for owners, managers and advisers of small businesses, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 24-25 in Moorhead.
The two-day program is designed to help owners and managers of small businesses better understand financial management and increase their chances of success during difficult economic times.

CornVention starts Wednesday in Fargo
The North Dakota Corn Growers Association annual CornVention and Tradeshow will be Wednesday and Thursday at the Holiday Inn, 3808 13th Ave. S., Fargo.
Wednesday’s events are from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and featured speaker is Mark Mayfield, who will lead a panel discussion on “The Future of E15 in North Dakota.”
Thursday’s research event, CornKnowledge, is from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with an aim of educating corn growers on the future and trends of the corn and agricultural industry. CornKnowledge will feature Kevin Kimberley, an expert in maximizing yield potential through proper equipment calibration, and Dave Franzen, an extension soil specialist from North Dakota State University.
The North Dakota Corn Growers and the North Dakota Soybean Growers will host a social from 6 to 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Holiday Inn.

ADDY Awards ceremony slated Feb. 28 in Fargo
The American Advertising Federation ADDY Awards ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Feb. 28 at the Fargo Holiday Inn.
The ADDY Awards, sponsored by AAF-ND, a member association comprised of advertising and media professionals, recognizes and showcases North Dakota’s best advertising creative talent.
Tickets for the event are free for AAF-ND members, and $20 to $60 for nonmembers.

Innovate ND launches 2014 boot camp series
Innovate ND, a statewide program that assists entrepreneurs in developing business ideas, will host a series of “Proving Ground Boot Camps” across the state.
The first boot camp will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 1 at Bismarck State College National Energy Center of Excellence. Additional camps will be in April and May in Bismarck, Fargo and Grand Forks.

Staller to present local economic survey results
Dan Staller of Starion Financial will present the results of the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce’s economic survey at 8 a.m. Feb. 26 at the Ramada Plaza and Suites Conference Center, Fargo.
Topics covered in the survey include business changes from 2011 to 2013, expected changes for 2014, industry breakdowns, business segments, factors affecting performance, unemployment rates/hiring stats and more.
There will also be presentations from Pam Sharp, director of the Office of Management and Budget, Ross Manson, principal at Eide Bailly, and Jim Gartin, president of the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corp.

Gate City launches ‘90 Acts of Kindness’
To help celebrate the opening of Gate City Bank’s new branch on Veterans Boulevard in West Fargo, bank employees are performing “90 Acts of Kindness” across the metro area, leading up the bank’s grand opening Feb. 24-28.
The acts of kindness are a way to thank people for supporting Gate City Bank for the past 90 years.
Each act of kindness will be posted on the bank’s website, Facebook and Twitter accounts (#90ActsofKindness) so the public can follow the progress leading up to the 90th Act of Kindness, which will be presented at the Chamber ribbon cutting event at the new location at 11 a.m. Feb. 26.
