Man pleads guilty in connection with Fargo strong-armed liquor store robbery attemptFARGO – A St. Michael, N.D., man has pleaded guilty to criminal charges in connection with a strong-arm robbery attempt at a liquor store here in September.
Silas Duke Cavanaugh, 19, was sentenced to 1½ years in prison and 2 years of supervised probation after he pleaded guilty to one count of felony B robbery Monday in Cass County District Court.
Police said previously they arrested Cavanaugh after a report of an attempted robbery at Steve’s Package store here Sept. 17.
Police said the robber approached the counter, demanding money.
The clerk tried to push past the robber, but during the tussle, only succeeded in ripping the man’s shirt off, while being injured in his face and head. Cavanaugh left without getting any money, police said.
