Style Profile: Young musician chooses trendy, adventurous looks
The 17-year-old Fargo South High School graduate pairs an adventurous piece of clothing with an otherwise simple ensemble to create a look that’s both unique and fashionable.
I spotted the local folk musician (she goes by Hannah Jean and has videos on YouTube) downtown in a casual outfit that she topped off with an ultra-cool fedora.
Describe your style. Simple but trendy.
What are you wearing today? A Gap top and Mossimo pants that were thrifted, a hat from a friend and boots from DSW.
What inspires your style? Fashion blogs and editorials and Pinterest.
I really like The Man Repeller (a humorous fashion blog written by Leandra Medine).
Who are your style icons? Rihanna and Katherine Hepburn.
Where do you shop? I mostly shop at thrift stores, but I also like Gap.
What are your favorite things in your closet? My Italian leather purse that I found at a thrift store for $3 and my leather riding boots.
If you have to throw on an outfit quickly, what would you wear? I’d do crazy pants, a simple shirt and boots.
What’s the most outrageous item in your closet? A hot pink Egyptian jumpsuit.
What does style mean to you? Style is what people are saying without saying anything. It enhances someone’s personality.
