AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS: Sam Schoenwald, a 2010 graduate of Fargo North High School and senior violin performance major at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, has been named an artistic ambassador by the Minnesota Music Teachers Association. His performance in a trio (violin, piano and cello) earned him a $600 cash award and a concert tour in Minnesota this spring. The Artistic Ambassador Competition honors excellence in performance at the college level.

Maren Hulden, a graduate of Moorhead High School and the Columbia School of Law in New York, was recently awarded a prestigious two–year Skadden Fellowship. The Skadden Fellowship Program, established in 1988 by Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, pays each fellow’s salary and benefits while they work at for sponsoring organization. Hulden will serve her time at the Minnesota Disability Law Center where she will advocate for special need students.

INTERNS AND PAGES: Camila Stadum has joined Onsharp as a digital marketing intern. Stadum is senior majoring in public relations and advertising at North Dakota State University.

MILITARY NEWS: Air National Guard Airman Caitlin Schroeder and Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Logan Carlson have graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. Schroeder is a 2012 graduate of Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton High School and the daughter of Teresa Schroeder, Glyndon, and Christopher Schroeder, Fargo. Larson graduated from Oak Grove Lutheran School in 2009 and Concordia College in 2013. He is the son of Sandy and David Carlson, Moorhead.

Pvt. Kevin Libbrecht has graduated from the Marine Corps recruit training in San Diego. Libbrecht graduated from Shanley High School in 2013.

AND THE WINNER IS…: Members of Central Cass DECA from Casselton, N.D., were winners in the Emerging Leaders Conference recently held at Valley City (N.D.) State University. Students and their awards were:
