Horace Winter Extravaganza to be held SaturdayHORACE, N.D. – Artists, crafters and vendors will converge in the Horace Community Center Saturday to showcase their wares for the Horace Winter Extravaganza.
The event, which features products from 25 artists, crafters and vendors, goes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Local Girl Scouts will be selling lunch.
Connie Bruse of rural Horace says she started the event three years ago to promote small businesses in the small towns of Horace, Christine, Hickson, and Kindred. There are now also artists, crafters, and vendors from Fargo, West Fargo, Wahpeton, and Barnesville, Minn.
“We needed something to do in the winter,” Bruse said, adding that the shows typically draw several hundred people. “They are very well-attended and a lot of fun for a small town.”
The event started in the Horace Fire Hall Training Center but outgrew that space and moved to the Horace Community Center.
Bruse, a fiber artist specializing in quilted art, also coordinates a Horace Fall Festival in October.
