Former ND Insurance Commissioner Poolman goes home after serious crash

MANDAN, N.D. – Former Insurance Commissioner Jim Poolman is home from the hospital after being involved in a serious crash near here earlier this month.

Poolman shattered his pelvis, broke his wrist and suffered a major concussion.

He now has 18 screws in his pelvis and will need three to six months of physical therapy.

Poolman spent three weeks in Regions Hospital in St. Paul before he was released and flew home Tuesday.

A second man involved in the Jan. 6 accident died at the scene.
