Train collision kills truck driver in Herman, Minn.

The driver of a semi was killed in a crash with a freight train Tuesday in Herman, Minn., according to the Grant County Sheriff's Department.

Bradley Vold, 47, of Graceville, Minn., was driving a semi loaded with soybeans on Third Street in Herman. At a railroad crossing, the eastbound semi collided with a northbound BNSF train, the sheriff’s department said.

The crash detached the semi tractor from the trailer, and the train pushed the semi tractor for about 1,500 feet before stopping.

Emergency crews were called to the scene about 2 p.m., and they found Vold dead, the sheriff’s department said.

The crash is under investigation.
