UPDATE: ND curling team tied for first at nationalsSEATTLE – Team North Dakota, comprised of four high school boys from Fargo Davies, was tied for first place with five other teams after Tuesday’s competition at the USA Curling Junior Nationals tournament.
After defeating the 2013 silver medal team from Dalton, Wis.,
9-2 Monday night, Team North Dakota suffered its first loss Tuesday with a 6-5 setback to a team from Midland, Mich., before losing late Tuesday night 9-5 to a team from Southborough, Mass.
Team North Dakota was in a six-way tie for first place with teams from Dresher, Pa.; Duluth, Minn.; Seattle; Malvern, Pa.; and Southborough. Each team has 4-2 records after Tuesday night.
Members of the Team North Dakota team are Branden Scheel, Tyler and Aaron Johnson and Hunter Dennison from Davies High School and Kyson Smith from Minot State University.
