Xcel Energy asking customers to turn down thermostats after natural gas line rupture in Canada

Due to a natural gas pipeline rupture in Canada, Xcel Energy is asking its customers in Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, Fargo and Moorhead to turn down their thermostats.

According to a press release, the company is asking all of their natural gas customers to set the temperature of the thermostats to 60 degrees unless doing so would pose a danger to their health or safety.

Xcel Energy is contacting local officials to ensure they are prepared should conditions change.
