Sous chef attends cuisine boot camp

Sean Dunnigan, a sous chef at Maxwell’s Restaurant, West Fargo, recently participated in the Culinary Institution of America’s Mediterranean Boot Camp in San Antonio.

At the camp, he expanded his knowledge and cooking skills and was able to create unique dishes that highlighted the renowned cuisines of the Mediterranean culture.


Dr. Berry certified as obesity specialist

Dr. Spencer Berry, Fargo Medical Weight Loss Clinic, has completed board certification as an obesity medicine specialist and is recognized as a diplomat of the American Board of Obesity Medicine. Dr. Berry is also board certified in family medicine.

The advanced specialty certification makes Dr. Berry qualified to care for and manage the medical issues associated with being overweight and obese, such as metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, high cholesterol, heart disease, stroke, asthma, gastric reflux, arthritis, PCOS, reduction in cancer risks and dementia, as well as many other metabolic diseases.

Peterson receives architectural licensure

Adam Peterson, Fargo, has received his architectural license from the North Dakota State Board of Architecture.

Peterson, a graduate of North Dakota State University, is employed by Foss Architecture & Interiors, Fargo, and serves as project designer for a variety of projects types including education, civic and commercial. Peterson also is a LEED Accredited Professional.


Gylland certified in laboratory safety

Linda Gylland, laboratory safety officer and microbiology medical laboratory scientist at Sanford Health, Fargo, has been awarded a Certificate of Qualification in Laboratory Safety from the American Society for Clinical Pathology.

Gylland earned the qualification by meeting licensure, experience and education requirements and passing the national QLS examination. She currently is the first and only ASCP-QLS certified microbiology medical laboratory scientist in North Dakota and Minnesota.


Hospice employees earn various certifications

Three employees of Hospice of the Red River Valley have completed various certifications.

They include:

Shaun Seibold, registered nurse, Hospice and Palliative Nurse Certification through the National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Nurse; and Brittany Sprecher and Tammy Baehler, licensed social workers, Thanatology Certification through the Association for Death Education and Counseling.

Seibold earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing at Concordia College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Montana.

Sprecher has worked for HRRV for more than 18 years and Baehler has been with HRRV for 16 years. Both are graduates of Minnesota State University Moorhead.
