Report: Norv Turner headed to Vikings as offensive coordinator

MINNEAPOLIS – Norv Turner has agreed to be the Minnesota Vikings new offensive coordinator, CBS Sports reported Saturday, citing a league source.

Turner served as the Cleveland Browns’ offensive coordinator for one season. After Rob Chudzinski was fired in December, the rest of the coaching staff was given permission to seek other opportunities.

The Vikings recently hired Mike Zimmer as their head coach. Turner will help Zimmer, the former Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator, find and developing a consistent starting quarterback.

Turner has been a head coach for the San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders. He has also served as an offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers.
