Lisbon police looking for 15-year-old girl missing since Jan. 7

LISBON, N.D. – Police here are asking for the public’s help to find a missing teenager who has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Amanda Borgen, 15, has been missing since the morning of Jan. 7, Lisbon police said in a statement.

Borgen is 5 feet 1 inches tall and weighs about 100 pounds. She has dark brown curly hair that may be straightened, and she is known to dye her hair many colors.

She has hazel eyes, fair complexion and wears a lip ring.

Borgen was listed as a runaway in October, but was found and returned home, the statement said.

Since then, Borgen was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has been off her medication, the police said.

According to the American Psychological Association, bipolar disorder is a manic depressive illness and often causes severe shifts in mood and impairs functioning.

If anyone has contact with Borgen or sees her, they should immediately contact the Lisbon Police Department at (701) 683-4141 or their local law enforcement.
