Letter: Two important sessions to be held at NDSUTwo legislative interim committees will be meeting at North Dakota State University on Wednesday and Thursday at the Memorial Union. The judiciary and higher education committees will hold a joint meeting the first day for the purpose of reviewing the research activities currently being undertaken by higher education.
Specific attention will be given to intellectual property rights policies and procedures. The committees will also hear testimony regarding efforts to commercialize viable research results. The committees will meet separately Thursday.
The judiciary committee will review court fees as well as hear testimony on the newly implemented DUI law passed by the 2013 Legislature. The higher education committee will focus on programs being partnered by the state Department of Commerce and higher education, including ResearchND, Succeed 2020 and the unmanned air systems programs.
Specific agendas are available on the state legislative website. These meetings are open to the public and also provide agenda time for public comment related to the agenda items being considered.
