Style Profile: Funky style for aspiring fashion designer
The North Dakota State University apparel studies major favors funky fashions that represent her love of punk and ’90s-inspired style.
I spotted 21-year-old Daul at Fowlers Heritage Company in Fargo where she works.
I admired her oversized glasses and fresh-looking T-shirt style dress that she paired with tights and booties on a chilly winter day.
Describe your style. I’m inspired by the ’90s and punk style. I went to the Met Gala last summer in New York City and loved the punk theme.
What’re you wearing today? A Cynthia Rowley dress, Dolce & Gabbana glasses, a Coach watch and Worthington booties.
Who are your style icons? Nichole Richie because her style’s always evolving and Miley Cyrus because she doesn’t care – if you want to express yourself in a cool new way, don’t let anything hold you back.
Who are your favorite designers? I love Alexander Wang’s menswear and how he pairs leather with sweatshirts.
Alexander McQueen and Kenzo are my two other favorites.
Do you have any style obsessions? Sunglasses. I have 30 or 40 pairs and everything from vintage to modern.
What would you splurge on if you could? A Celine handbag.
Where do you shop? Fowlers for comfortable, high-quality clothing and Forever 21.
What’s your dream job? To be a fashion designer in Fargo. Everyone would have to come to me!
Who do you follow on Instagram for style inspiration? Nicole Richie, @nicolerichie; Opening Ceremony (a retail shop with locations across the globe), @openingceremony; ASOS (a U.K. online-only retailer), @asos; and Dolce & Gabbana, @dolcegabbana.
