Letter: Hunting in ND a great pastimeI have long admired our North Dakota tradition of hunting. Not only is it a rewarding pastime and a fantastic part of North Dakota heritage, but it also provides a great way to spend quality time with family and friends in the outdoors. It is an honored tradition in North Dakota that my brother-in-law and father-in-law and many other family members enjoy each year.
Hunters and nonhunters alike reap the benefits of North Dakota’s active hunting scene. Whether they realize it or not, all North Dakotans benefit from the hunting and shooting sports in our great state. The annual influx of hunters provides an increase profits for hotels, restaurants, and convenience stores in small-town North Dakota giving them a boost they would not otherwise enjoy. Some 2,200 jobs are created by the hunting sector and another $69.5 million is generated in salaries.
Hunting has an incredibly positive impact for our state and our families. I hope this continues for many generations to come.
