Wyoming driver cited after truck hauling tanks hits overpass on I-94 in western ND

SOUTH HEART, N.D. - A Wyoming truck driver was cited after one of the two 400-barrel tanks he was hauling on a flatbed trailer fell off when it hit an overpass on Interstate 94 about 10:30 a.m. Monday, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Herbert Lambert Jr., of Lusk, Wyo., was hauling the tanks with a 2006 Peterbilt truck when they struck the overpass that leads to South Heart. The accident caused damage to the overpass and both tanks.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation inspected the overpass and confirmed it was safe for traffic.

Lambert was cited for operating without an oversize permit.
