Letter: Health care change upsetting

My personal family insurance through Blue Cross Blue Shield was recently canceled. I was paying $950 a month for my family of five (three adult children 25 and younger) with a $1,000 deductible and a max of $4,000 out-of-pocket expenses.

The new recommended plan from BCBS has a 30 percent coinsurance, $2,000 deductible and $9,000 out-of-pocket expenses. The new monthly premium jumps up to $1,967.02 a month. Yes, almost $24,000 a year.

While I’m very happy for those people who can now get insurance who couldn’t before because of pre-existing conditions, the Affordable Care Act, in my case, isn’t the least bit attractive or affordable. Not feeling the love for Obama and Obamacare at the present time, and I’m even more disgusted with insurance companies that have to go.
