Weekend Watch: ‘My Generation, Let’s Take It Over: Emerging Artists of Fargo-Moorhead’
The Plains Art Museum, 704 1st Ave., N., Fargo, is going through a youth movement. The museum is turning over one of the main galleries to emerging local artists for “My Generation, Let’s Take it Over.” The forceful title may be echoed in “View Point,” Kelly Cantrell’s oversized cardboard pistol, suspended from the ceiling (pictured), but the show encourages viewers to study the creative types who will be around for decades. Other artists include Judith Feist, Torey Garletz, Kaylyn Gerenz, Steven Hammer, Jerica Olson, Ben Rheault, and Ashley Strazzinski. The show opens with a reception tonight, starting at 6 p.m., featuring a curator talk at 7 with Christian Gion. From 8 to 10 p.m., bands Supercruiser and The Alleles play. Admission is $10, $5 for students and free for members. (701) 232-3821.
