Concordia grabs men’s hockey win over ranked teamMOORHEAD – Jordan Christianson scored in overtime to lift Concordia to a 2-1 victory against No. 13-ranked Wisconsin-River Falls in NCAA Division III men’s hockey at the Moorhead Sports Center.
“It’s a huge win to beat a team that is always a contender,” said Cobbers head coach Chris Howe.
The Cobbers (9-3-1) were playing in their first game since Dec. 15. Senior goalie Chris Neamonitis had 44 saves. Neamonitis made 35 stops through two periods.
“Chris has been terrific all year,” Howe said. “Chris is was what kept us in there.”
Cobbers senior defenseman David Velich forced overtime, scoring in the third period.
“It was a really gritty performance by our team,” Howe said. “It really means a lot to see the guys respond like that in the third period.”
