Minnesota manufacturers optimisticST PAUL - A survey shows 91 percent of Minnesota manufacturers expect production and employment levels to remain steady or increase in 2014.
The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development and the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis released the survey results Monday, and the state's top economic development official said it is good news.
"Manufacturing is an integral part of the state’s economy and it’s reassuring to hear industry leaders expect stability and growth for the coming year,” DEED Commissioner Katie Clark Sieben said.
The survey also revealed that 94 percent of manufacturers expect exports to increase or stay the same, 93 percent expect productivity to increase or stay the same and 80 percent expect profits to increase or stay the same.
