7 attorneys apply for East Central District Court judgeship to replace Lisa Fair McEversFARGO – Seven attorneys have applied for the open East Central District Court judgeship here that was left vacant by Lisa Fair McEvers’ appointment to the North Dakota Supreme Court.
Those who applied are:
McEvers was appointed to the state Supreme Court by Gov. Jack Dalrymple in November to replace Justice Mary Muehlen Maring, who retired Dec. 31.
McEvers heard her first case as a Supreme Court Justice on Friday. Her first day with the court was Thursday.
According to the North Dakota Supreme Court’s website, the seven candidates are tentatively scheduled to be interviewed by the Judicial Nominating Committee on Jan. 28.
The committee will then recommend a candidate to Dalrymple for appointment.
