Vikings' Patterson added to Pro Bowl roster

The Minnesota Vikings announced Friday that rookie kickoff returner Cordarrelle Patterson was selected to the Pro Bowl as a return specialist.

Patterson replaces Pittsburgh Steelers kick returner Antonio Brown, who will only be listed as a wide receiver on the Pro Bowl roster. Brown received the majority of his votes at wide receiver.

Patterson returned 43 kickoffs for 1,393 yards with two touchdowns for an NFL-best 32.4 yards per return average.

The first-round draft choice was named NFC Offensive Rookie of the Month for December after he scored three rushing touchdowns and three receiving touchdowns on 26 touches in the last five games of the regular season.

The Pro Bowl banned kickoffs for this year's game so Patterson will only return punts. He could also be used as a wide receiver.
