Letter: Another example of airline failuresRegarding Dr. Neville Alberto’s commentary in Sunday’s Forum (Dec. 29): Unfortunately it’s just one more example of how little concern the airlines show for the very people who keep them in business.
Years ago, the federal government decided that deregulation of the airlines would improve competition and customer service in the airline industry. Just the opposite effect has happened. It has allowed the larger airlines to increase their stranglehold on smaller markets.
The result is what happened to Alberto and his family: A family vacation spent inside Hector International Airport. Anyone who has traveled by air can tell a similar story.
