Tuesday tip: Photos keep track of gift givers for thank-you notes

Between the flurry of wrapping paper and the abundance of gifts, my husband and I started to lose track of who got our kids what for Christmas.

As our 5-year-old daughter sat down to write thank-you notes, the three of us pieced together the gift-giving roster, hoping we hadn’t overlooked anything – or anyone.

I then remembered a tip a friend in my Mothers of Preschoolers group shared for keeping track of gift-giving at kids’ birthday parties.

As soon as the birthday boy or girl opens a gift, snap a photo of the recipient with the present and the giver.

You’ll have a photographic record to refer to when writing thank-you notes, all while documenting birthday fun. You can even include a copy of the photo with the note.
