Style Profile: Accessories, clothing buyer goes for timeless wardrobe

FARGO – Most days, Nikki Fjerstad has at least six pairs of shoes in her office.

The 31-year-old corporate line leader buys clothing and accessories for Scheels All Sports in Fargo and says she’s a “shoe fanatic.”

I spotted Fjerstad in her office sporting an ensemble that looked both fresh and professional.

Describe your style. Classic. I like timeless pieces. But, I do like to test trends, too.

What are you wearing today? A French Connection blouse from Scheels, J. Crew’s “Tippi” sweater, a Lia Sophia necklace, pants from The Limited, a Nixon watch and Vince Camuto heels.

What’s your go-to outfit for work? What I’m wearing today! Ankle pants, pointy stilettos and a sweater.

Where do you shop? Scheels, Anthropologie and J. Crew.

What’s your favorite fashion splurge? I bought a mustard-yellow leather Marc Jacobs bag that I love.

Who’re your style icons? Blake Lively, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Biel. Their style is classic and clean. They’re jeans-and-T-shirt girls, but they can look dressy and effortless, too.

Do you have any fashion rules? Quality over quantity. My mom taught me that.

If you could splurge on one fashion-related item, what would it be? A Burberry trench coat or a Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM bag.

What inspires your style? My job – it’s fun to fine “me” in Scheels. I also like J. Crew and Anthropologie’s look books.
