Letter: Not happy with polling changesFor the past few years, I’ve been able to vote at the El Zagal Shrine. Thanks to the Fargo School District, I will be casting my ballot in the March 2014 special election at another location. The number of polling sites has been reduced from 16 to nine, and most voters will be sent to elementary schools.
I’m trying to understand the logic of this boneheaded decision. Is the school district more concerned about getting voters into the schools so we can see the faces of kids before we cast our ballots on the property tax vote?
Once I determine my voting location, I will be voting “no” and trust the school district can figure out how to cut $5 million per year from their annual budget or spend their $25 million surplus to cover the shortfall.
