Devils Lake man faces charges in rollover crash

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. – A Devils Lake man who received serious injuries in a rollover crash early Sunday faces a drunken driving charge, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

Bailey Mackey, 18, was driving east on state Highway 17 heading from Cando to Devils Lake when the crash happened about 2:15 a.m., the patrol said in a statement.

About 12 miles east of Cando, the 2010 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck that Mackey was driving went off the road and into the south ditch. The truck rolled and came to rest on its side, the patrol said.

Mackey was taken to the Towner County Medical Center in Cando and was later airlifted to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks because of the severity of his injuries, the patrol said.

He faces a charge of driving under the influence as a result of the crash, according to the patrol.
