Letter: A Grinch-like Carlson opinion

It’s too early, few of us probably are paying attention, but somebody has to respond to Rep. Al Carlson’s, R-Fargo, Grinch-like opinion about property taxes in North Dakota that appeared in the Dec. 19 Forum.

As Carlson fully must realize, if he’s cognizant in the least, the federal government has been hamstrung by the tea party members of his party when it comes to serious problems facing our country, including in our own region,

The state government, wholly owned by and under his and his party’s leadership, has failed to step in and adequately address problems from Williston to Bismarck to Fargo during a period when they have held unprecedented political power and the state’s growth has gained the means to take reasonable steps to respond to those problems but hasn’t done it.

Now, Carlson is kicking local officials for doing the tough job of meeting needs that must be met.

Really?

What’s next when it comes to avoiding responsibility?

Blame it on Santa, elves or soft-hearted nuns?
