Susan Johnson-Drenth named Boss of the Year

Susan E. Johnson-Drenth, an attorney at JD Legal Planning, Fargo, was named Boss of the Year by the National Association of Legal Associates of Fargo-Moorhead. The announcement was made at the annual Boss of the Year luncheon in October.

She has also been appointed as the North Dakota state chairwoman for the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, a nonprofit association of more than 2,600 trust and estate lawyers who practice throughout the United States, Canada and the world.


West Fargo honors Cota with Chiefs Medal

Pam Cota, a 33-year employee of the city of West Fargo, is the recipient of the 2013 Chief’s Medal from the West Fargo Police Department. She is the first civilian to be awarded the medal.

Cota started working for the city as a dispatcher and is now the crime-free housing coordinator.

Her position requires her to coordinate information between the police department and numerous landlords throughout the city. She has developed training sessions for new and longtime landlords and helps them obtain long-term tenants.


EJ Enterprises named TSMA member of year

The Tri-State Manufacturers’ Association has named EJ Enterprises in Fergus Falls, Minn., as the TSMA 2013 Member of the Year.

EJ Enterprises specializes in print and promotional products and was founded in 1998 by Elroy Vesta.

The Member of the Year award acknowledges companies that have made a significant impact on the success of the TSMA.

Vesta has served as president of the TSMA for the past 14 years, plus an additional five years as director. He also contributes to the company newsletter and is a longtime sponsor and supporter of the annual TSMA golf social, which raises funds for industry scholarships.


TS Dock and Lift earns ShoreMaster awards

TS Dock and Lift, Detroit Lakes, Minn., owned by Todd Simison, has been recognized as one of the top dealers of ShoreMaster waterfront products and has been recognized with Shoremaster’s All-Star Service and Platinum Dealer awards.

The service award recognizes TS Dock and Lift’s service crew’s experience, expertise and service to customers. The business received the dealer award for being the sixth top overall sales dealer in 2013.


American Towman honors Nick Grossman

Nick Grossman of Ed’s Towing Service, Moorhead, has received the American Towman ACE Award for achievement in service performance.

Recipients were nominated by the nation’s major motor clubs and dispatch centers, including Coach-Net, Geico, National Automobile Club and Nation Safe Drivers.

Guidelines for the award include highest percentage of calls when the estimated time of arrival is achieved, consistency in response time, written appreciation from customers and overall professionalism.

The award is presented by American Towman Magazine.


Tim O’Keeffe named a Top 100 Trial Lawyer

Tim O’Keeffe, a founding partner of the Kennelly O’Keeffe law firm in Fargo, has been named as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by National Trial Lawyers.

O’Keeffe has earned this honor annually since 2008. His practice area focuses on personal injury and trials.


Minn-Dak co-op elects new board member

Minn-Dak Farmers Cooperative district shareholders have elected Randy Mauch, Mooreton, N.D., to its board of directors. Mauch will represent the Factory West District and replaces Russ Mauch, who retired from the board after serving the 15-year maximum allowed by the co-op’s bylaws.

Current directors Dennis Klosterman, Mooreton, N.D., and Dennis Butenhoff, Barnesville, Minn., were re-elected by their district shareholders. Klosterman and Butenhoff were first elected to the board in 2004.

Others elected to the board are Brent Davison, Tintah, Minn., chairman; Butenhoff, vice chairman; Klosterman, secretary; and Dale Blume, Norcross, Minn., treasurer.

The board also approved the continued appointments of Simone Sandberg as legal counsel and Suzann Moffet as recording secretary.


Fargo Lions Club elects new officers for 2014

The Fargo Lions Club has elected officers for the current service year.

Those elected are Patrick Brown, president; Connie Koehmstedt, first vice president; Brian Grave, treasurer; Kim Olson, secretary; Mike Gallagher, vice president of membership; Jayne Gust, vice president of community service; and Mel Olson, tail twister.
