Fargo business hosts outdoor golf tournament for employeesFARGO - On a day most people were thinking about sweaters, scarves and mittens, a local company was thinking about 9-irons, putters and golf balls.
Employees of Discovery Benefits created an outdoor snow golf course, calling it the "Discovery Country Club."
The course was created outside of the office by shoveling out the fairways.
Golfers hit tennis balls toward the "hole," a stick, frozen in an ice cream bucket.
The practice rounds were Wednesday and Thursday, with the big tournament today.
"You know we try real hard at Discovery to create a fun culture," said Andy Doeden, a Discovery Benefits salesman and former college standout golfer. "It starts at the top and this is just one of many things we do throughout the year to make people excited to come into work each day."
