Q&A with Bison running back Derrick Lang

Q: If there was a movie made about your life, which actor would you want to play you?

A: Mark Wahlberg. He usually plays kind of the bad-man role in a lot of his movies. I like a lot of his roles.

What is your favorite movie?

“Wedding Crashers.” I love the combination of Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson.

What two bands or musical acts would you pick for your dream concert?

I’d go with Thomas Rhett. I saw him this summer at a concert. He was a lot of fun. He really interacted with the crowd a lot, and Montgomery Gentry.

What is the proudest moment of your athletic career?

I would say (beating) Kansas State. It was just awesome being able to contribute like I did in that game. That third-down play that we converted on third-and-11 in that last drive against Kansas State, that is something I will never forget.

What is your favorite jersey color?

I love the gold jerseys. I do like our white ones now, too.

What is your favorite television show?

“Breaking Bad.” I like just the suspense of it. They always left you hanging.

What is something most people wouldn’t know about you?

I’m not sure a lot of people know I was a walk-on here. I had to earn my way. I had epilepsy when I was younger. That is probably something a lot of people don’t know.

What is your most prized possession?

My family. My parents mean a lot of me. They’ve been a huge influence on me. My brothers, my sister, but all my teammates. They’re my best friends.

What would you be doing if you were not a football player?

I’d be involved in sports some way or another. I want to be an athletic director someday. I’d probably be trying to work in the ticket office or something like that.
