Carol Ladwig fills vacancy on Moorhead School BoardMOORHEAD – Carol Ladwig will fill the vacant School Board seat here vacated by Kristine Thompson and later Trudy Wilmer.
Thompson, a longtime board member resigned in September to take a job with the district. Wilmer was appointed to fill Thompson’s vacancy, but resigned last month after taking a job with the district’s audit firm.
In a special meeting Monday night, the board approved Ladwig’s appointment and she was sworn in by current board Chairwoman Lisa Erickson.
After serving more than 16 years on the school board in the 1990s and early 2000s, Ladwig decided not to seek re-election in 2008. In 2009, she was named to the All State School Board, the Minnesota School Board Association’s highest recognition.
Ladwig will serve the remainder of Thompson’s term, which would have expired on Jan. 1, 2015.
Board members are paid $800 per month.
