Student suffers minor injury as bus hits ditchNEVIS, Minn. - A Nevis student was slightly injured Monday morning when the school bus she was riding on slid off Minnesota Highway 34.
The accident occurred as snow was flying about 8 a.m. The 12-year-old apparently hit her head on the seat in front of her when the bus bumped down into the ditch.
She was taken by ambulance to St, Joseph’s Area Health Services in Park Rapids as a precaution.
That was one of numerous crashes Monday, as a sudden snowstorm dumped 4 inches of white stuff on Hubbard County and surrounding counties in north-central Minnesota in about a two-hour period.
There were about 20 children on the bus that crashed. None of the other students, nor the driver, were injured.
Students were transferred to another bus and taken to school.
