Letter: ND served well by ‘lieutenant lady’

I just wanted to take a moment to say how fortunate we as North Dakotans are to have Kathleen Wrigley as our lieutenant lady. Whether it is putting out the details over social media of a benefit or a request for prayers for an ill transplant recipient and a new young dad who has lost his wife, her compassion knows no boundaries.

Maybe it’s helping to head up a free inaugural kids mini marathon to help promote fitness, or inspiring us all with her own marathon post-aneurysm or even writing another “On the Minds of Mom” column that makes all of women-kind sigh and laugh and cry a good cry. She galvanizes so many with her genuine heartfelt enthusiasm.

She always unequivocally has her priorities straight and therefore makes the world a better place. Anyone who has come in contact with this woman in any matter knows that is not just hyperbole.

I know her some, but not that well, but I am writing this letter to say she is one of the most beautiful human beings I have ever met. The fact that she is married to, um, what’s his name again? – just kidding – Drew Wrigley and is our lieutenant lady of North Dakota and is now bringing this immense grace to our state Capitol day after day, well, makes me smile so big. It’s just the icing on the cake.
