5 photo editing apps to tryFARGO – Fashion, animals, travels, food and everyday life unite on my favorite social media platform, Instagram.
The image-driven social networking service provides snippets of life from its more than 150 million worldwide users in the form of photos and video.
Instagram is known for its selection of filters that transform photos into artsier creations. I’ve found five other photo editing apps for Apple devices that do everything from straighten crooked images to add a swirl of glitter.
1. PicBeauty, free for a limited time
PicBeauty is like waving a magic wand over a photo. It smooths and evens out skin tone with the swipe of a finger.
Photos look dreamy (but unnatural) after a run through the app. I use it when I want photos to have a glow-y look.
2. Adobe Photoshop Express, free
It straightens, corrects color, contrast and exposure, and crops images.
PS Express is one of the most basic and most useful photo editing apps I’ve found.
3. Pixlromatic, free
If PS Express is one of the most basic photo apps, Pixlromatic is one of the most magical.
With filters like “Glitter” and “Shine,” Pixlromatic adds mood to otherwise simple photos. It’s my current favorite image editing app, and it’s easy to use.
4. A Beautiful Mess, 99 cents
Created by lifestyle blogging sisters Elsie and Emma, the A Beautiful Mess iPhone app allows users to add trendy borders, doodles and sayings to photos.
Collage and filter options were recently added to the app, making it more versatile and visually fun.
5. Pic Stitch, free
For quick collages, I use Pic Stitch. The app is simple and allows users to choose from dozens of different collage styles.
