Fugitive Focus: Darren Alan Maurstad

FARGO – Darren Alan Maurstad is wanted by the United States Marshals Service’s High Plains Fugitive Task Force based upon a federal felony arrest warrant for escape.

Maurstad walked away from Centre Inc. in Fargo on Nov. 25, where he was placed after having served most of a prison sentence for conspiracy to possess and distribute methamphetamine, a Marshals Service spokesman said.

Maurstad was charged in South Dakota in 2004 with conspiracy to possess and distribute methamphetamine, and he was sentenced in June 2005 to 120 months in prison and three years of supervised release, the spokesman said.

He was sent to Centre Inc. after having served about eight and a half years of his original sentence, the spokesman said.
