UND men's basketball falls to Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. – A splashy win over a power conference opponent remains elusive for the UND men’s basketball team.

Oregon, unbeaten and ranked No. 14 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, had the size and speed to outlast UND 91-76 on Saturday evening in front of 5,937 fans at the state-of-the-art Matthew Knight Arena.

UND was much improved from Thursday’s disappointing blowout loss against Cal Poly, but the Green and White couldn’t cut the Ducks’ lead to single digits late and trailed by as many as 20 early in the second half.

The Ducks, led by guard Joseph Young’s 23 points, shot 58.9 percent from the field, while UND shot 40.8. UND also struggled from beyond the arc, going 4-for-21 including a 1-for-10 showing in the first half.
