Letter: Remember debacle next election

In the Nov. 22 edition of The Forum, there is a quote in the story about North Dakota Insurance Commissioner Adam Hamm asking health insurers in North Dakota to renew policies that were slated for cancellation under the Affordable Care Act.

The Forum quotes Hamm as saying, “The president repeatedly made a promise to them and to all Americans that if they liked their health insurance plan they should keep it,” Hamm added. “As such, that promise should be kept.”

That is not what the president said. The president repeatedly promised all Americans that if they liked their health insurance they could (not should) keep it. The fault of these cancellations is Obamacare – make no mistake about it. The president lied about this over and over, and now liberal media is doing its best to cover it up.

Blame is being shifted to the insurance companies or any other target they can find other than where it belongs: the Democratic Party and President Barack Obama.

Oh, and the deviation from the use of the term “Obamacare” to Affordable Care Act is just a poor attempt to deflect criticism of Obama and this “signature legislation.” I hope people remember this debacle in the next presidential election.
