Fargo sees second armed robbery in as many days

FARGO – A Fargo convenience store was robbed at gunpoint early Friday, with the suspect getting away with a small amount of money, Fargo police Lt. Joel Vettel said.

It was the second day in a row that a Fargo convenience store was robbed, and there are similarities in the two cases, police say.

According to Vettel:

The Friday incident happened about 4 a.m. at the Cenex Zip Trip store at 2501 23rd Ave. S.

A man entered the business wearing a ski mask and displayed a handgun before leaving the store and heading south.

A police dog was unable to track the suspect.

The Thursday morning robbery happened around 4 a.m. at a Stop-N-Go store at 2701 S. University Drive.

In both cases, clerks told police they believed the suspect to be a black male wearing dark clothing.

The suspect’s clothing in Friday’s incident included a woodland camouflage jacket, Vettel said.

No one was hurt in either incident.

Vettel said although there are similarities between the two cases, police do not know for sure if they are related.
